Welcome to the home of the Reddish Knob Challenge for Prostate Cancer Awareness, one of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project's series of Black Tire Affair® events to raise awareness about prostate cancer and the critical importance of early detection.
Reddish Knob is Virginia’s Mt. Ventoux, a long climb at an average 5% grade that just seems to go on forever! The climb begins at Briery Branch and ends at the summit of Reddish Knob, the highest point in northern Virginia. Full route details are at the “Course” tab.
We invite you to be part of a unique event designed to reduce the annual 29,000 man death toll from prostate cancer. If you think of yourself as a “grimpeur” (climber) or you just want to test your mettle, join us for this great event.
Date Change
Because of a staff shortage - we actually have no permanent staff here at the PCAP - we are revising the Reddish Knob’s Challenge’s format to be a self-reporting event, which will mean that you can ride the course at any time during the year.
Receive Event Information Updates
To be placed on The Reddish Know Challenge email information list (your information will be strictly safeguarded), simply complete the form in the right sidebar, send an email to ReddishKnobChallenge@29000men.org, or complete the form at the Contact Page tab.
Event Concept Change
We have received many emails about the program and the possibility of extending it to other states. We are in the process of developing a new concept that will include events in California and Virginia. We should have everything worked out by late January, in plenty of time for integration into your race calendar.
